the 2008 winter bazaar

It's time again for Utah's arts and crafts boutique darling, the one and only, the Beehive Bazaar. Hailing from Happy Valley Utah, aka Provo, the Bazaar showcases the works of more than 50 indie local and national artists and crafters. This December 4th, 5th and 6th, thousands of localites will flock to peruse a unique hand-made selection of clothing, decor, jewelry, paintings, glass, paper goods, textiles, gifts, treats and oh so much more.

The Bazaar started in 2004 when Molly Call, Noelle Olpin and Stephanie Higginbotham, three local mums, all with a serious creative bent, decided they needed a venue where they and their friends could share their arts and crafts with others in their community. They launched the original event from one of their own homes with a handful of artists and it was mostly attended by friends and family. Since then the maternal trio has grown the Bazaar into a bi-annual, multi-day event with more than fifty artists and thousands of visitors from all over the state.

Today the women of the Bazaar continue to relish the opportunity to explore and share their creative passions as well as lend support to other local artists all while mothering their broods. They work hard to grow the show season after season to make room for additional artists and visitors. This year's Christmas event will be the largest and longest to date and will be held at the Women's Cultural Center in Provo—here's the address, dates and times—so…round up your girl friends and be sure to find your way to this year's Beehive Bazaar!
